This very tall and impressive octagonal shaped Imari vase depicts two unfolded screens with a landscape and architecture decoration and on top of it a rich pelmet-like fabric ending in a beautiful drapery on each side of the screen. The vase is in very good conditions, has been restored inly on the inside to secure some hairline cracks that dont go through the body. An identical example is shown in Wilhemsthal House, Germany, inv. nr. 4.1926.

A George II games table, circa 1750, constructed from good quality solid mahogany. The table follows a typical form of the period with bold cabriole legs terminating on elegant proud standing pad feet. One leg swings open to support the top, which has candle stands and guinea or counter trays as well as a card drawer which is oak lined with a later handle. The table has good original pagination which means that there are colour differences throughout. Most notably the top has a mellow golden hue whilst the legs retain a darker colour.

Finely painted in typical Imari palette with underglaze blue on white background and overglaze gold and red floral decoration with elaborate panels depicting birds and shishi lions. The peony is one of the flowers of the four seasons and represents the Spring. It symbolizes wealth and honour, honour in the sense of high rank, having an official position, or high social status. Plum Blossom (Prunus) / Meihua : Plum Meihua is one of the most important plants in Chinese art. Their flowers grow on knurled old angular branches, the flowers are fragile and pure, so they can be a symbol of vigour in old age as well as purity. The tree is the first to flower after the long hard winter, symbolically it can represent perseverance as well as renewal.

Large 17th Century Savona Blue and White Charger, circa 1675

An impressively large mid-18th century carved giltwood mirror in the Rococo style. The later shaped divided twin plate surmounted by a pierced acanthus leaf cresting flanked by icicles, the pierced ‘C’@ scroll sides with trailing oak leaves and acorns, above a pierced rocaille, double ‘C’ scroll and acanthus carved apron below. This mirror has excellent detailing and superb crisp carving throughout; the gilt finish has nicely aged to present a superb centrepiece mirror for any room or hallway. Origin/Age: Probably Irish, George III, circa 1760.
