A superb and rare pair of very finely painted blue and white Dutch Delft stove tiles dating around 1730. Decorated with a pastoral landscape with naked greek goddesses resting within a Daniel Marot (1661-1752) inspired baroque cartouche panel. Retaining their original bricks in the back which makes them rather heavy.

An impressively large mid-18th century carved giltwood mirror in the Rococo style. The later shaped divided twin plate surmounted by a pierced acanthus leaf cresting flanked by icicles, the pierced ‘C’@ scroll sides with trailing oak leaves and acorns, above a pierced rocaille, double ‘C’ scroll and acanthus carved apron below. This mirror has excellent detailing and superb crisp carving throughout; the gilt finish has nicely aged to present a superb centrepiece mirror for any room or hallway. An extremely rare Arita vase, late 17th century, lamped. The ovoid vase is decorated in underglaze blue with a large Ho-Ho bird or Phoenix surrounded with stylized flowers. A similar pair of vases was recently exhibited in ‘The Art of Japan’ at Christie’s King Street, London on the 8th of December 2016. The neck of this vase has been reduced and consequently we have had this converted into a lamp with a hand-carved giltwood top and base.

Near Pair of Late 17th Century Japanese Arita Jars

A well painted medium sized Japanese Imari vase depicting phoenixes and gru amongst flowers and blossoming branches on a cloud shaped underglaze blue decorated background. The lid with a shi-shi lion on a rockwork. Condition: Two pieces restuck on the rim about 5 cm (clearly visible in the picture) and restoration to the finial. Very vivid and well preserved colors.

Early 18th Century Japanese Imari Lidded Vase

A rare, oversized, possibly unrecorded,pair of Chinese Kangxi Dynasty (1662-1722) Blue and White chargers dating from around 1700 and made for the foreign markets (export) most probably for the Dutch since the shape recalls one of 17th century silver chargers. Large Kangxi mark on the base, beautiful scrolling foliage decoration on the front. Good condition: a chip the size of a thumbnail expertly restored on the side and not visible in both of them.
