A fine George II mahogany veneered and gilt overmantel pediment mirror with cartouche surmount. The latter inset with a large pastoral landscape painting original to the entire overmantel. Dating ca 1750 in the English Rococo manner. The mirror plates original and not replaced. ‍Provenance: 1930’s Stair and Co label on the back.

A Regency black painted plaster standing female figure light by Humphrey Hopper depicted in classical dress, holding aloft a candle light with etched floral glass shade, on a circular base. The shade replaced. Signed and Dated on the back of the base “N 18-1809” and “H”. Humphrey Hopper (1765-1844) may have started his career as a mason. He completed his education as a mature man of 36 by enrolling in the Royal Academy Schools in February 1801 to study sculpture. He was a successful student, winning a silver medal in December 1802.

A charming lamped Japanese Imari early 18th century vase. The main body of the vase is decorated in iron red and cobalt blue and highlighted with gilding. The main body is decorated with cranes, plants and flowers emerging from rocks. The vase has been mounted on a hand-carved water gilt wooden base and fitted with an antiqued brass plate and light finial.

A Large Japanese Imari octagonal vase, dating around 1700. The body is finely painted in typical Imari palette (underglaze blue and overglaze red gold and green). Lampshades are not included.

Early 18th Century Japanese Imari Octagonal Vase as a Lamp

A large Chinese Wanli period (1563-1620) blue and white porcelain bowl in perfect condition depicting several panels with flowers and tree branches and a scene with birds in the center. The bowl has been later highlighted, possibly in Holland with gilt and iron red decoration through a process called “clobbering”, which is here explained.
