The shade replaced. Signed and Dated on the back of the base “N 18-1809” and “H”. Humphrey Hopper (1765-1844) may have started his career as a mason. A large pair of octagonal shaped Japanese Imari vases dating from circa 1700-1720 featuring an intricate and colorful decorative scheme: Five shaped panels containing birds, trees and bridges on a flowers background. Condition: One vase is perfect, one has a small chip at the neck measuring circa 4 cm and professionally restored (see image nr. 4). Lamped with a giltwood base and brass top.

An unusual and large Kangxi (1662-1722) blue and white porcelain charger. circa 1700. Its shape takes inspirations from Dutch 17th century silver, probably the basin of an ewer. Large mushroom shaped kangxi mark at the bottom. Similar examples and literature: Hermitage Museum, saint Petersburg (Arapova,1977, p.122) : Chinese Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum (de krahl/Ayers, 1986, p 1023).

An impressively large mid-18th century carved giltwood mirror in the Rococo style. The later shaped divided twin plate surmounted by a pierced acanthus leaf cresting flanked by icicles, the pierced ‘C’@ scroll sides with trailing oak leaves and acorns, above a pierced rocaille, double ‘C’ scroll and acanthus carved apron below. This mirror has excellent detailing and superb crisp carving throughout; the gilt finish has nicely aged to present a superb centrepiece mirror for any room or hallway. Origin/Age: Probably Irish, George III, circa 1760.

A Large Chinese Wucai porcelain sleeve vase, dating around 1620. The body is boldly painted in typical Wucai palette (overglaze green, red, yellow and brown). Decorated with large pomegranates, phoenixes, peonies and leaves. Lamped and mounted on a hand carved and hand gilt wooden base, fitted with antiqued brass plate with UK fittings, brown silk flex and black UK plug. Can be converted for EU or US use.
