A really fine pair of early 18th century Japanese richly decorated imari baluster vases. The very unusual decoration of cooing and Billing birds is most unusual. Lamped on hand-carved and water gilt wooden bases. Both vases have been fitted with antiqued brass plates with light fittings. Typical imari colours: Tomato red, blue, black, orange and gilt highlights. One of the vases is perfect the other has a hairline crack.The custom-made lampshades (Claremont fabric) may sold separately at an additional price.

A large early 18th century Dutch Delft blue and white octagonal vase, Lamped. Depicting Chinese courtiers, one of which riding a battle horse, in a rocky landscape. Several comparable example at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, Holland. Lamped and mounted on a hand carved and hand gilt wooden base, fitted with antiqued brass plate with UK fittings, brown silk flex and black UK plug. Can be converted for EU or US use. An impressive and highly decorative early 18th century North Italian console table dating circa 1730-1740 and retaining most of its original gilding and inset with a beautiful “travertino” marble top. A very similar example, of larger proportion, in the Royal Palace of Turin as shown in the second picture. Very good condition, no replacements or losses, original gilding, sturdy structure. Impressive stature very suitable for a hall or living room to accomodate lamps or sculptures.

An Impressive Early 18th Century Italian Giltwood Console Table

A large late 17th century Japanese octagonal Arita blue and white vase, circa 1680. The vase is of octagonal baluster form, boldly painted with rocks and large blossoming foliage composed around the entire body within stylized borders. This vase has exceptionally good dark and light blue glaze saturation as well as virtuoso decoration stylistically typical of this period. As the vase has a hairline crack and a reduced neck we have made it into a fabulous lamp. It has a handmade wood octagonal gilded lid and a hand-turned gilded base.
