Each central panel decorated with a beautifully depicted kara shi-shi lions and framed by borders of blue scrolling flowers on a dark blue and gold background. A massive pair of exceptional Japanese Imari vases almost certainly made for a palace. Each is decorated with three beautifully composed landscape panels. Each panel, framed within a cartouche, shows birds of paradise, cherry blossom and other creatures perching on branches and set in idealized landscapes. The borders show an intricate and colorful decorative scheme of large peonies set on scrolling blue foliage. Both vases have lids topped with Bijin (Japanese courtly ladies). These vases date from, circa 1700.

A Large Dutch Delft vase of exceptional quality, dating around 1680. The body is finely painted in typical Chinoiserie style with figures in an elaborate landscape. Lamped and mounted on a hand carved and hand gilt wooden base, fitted with antiqued brass plate with UK fittings, brown silk flex and black UK plug. Can be converted for EU or US use. Lampshades are not included.

This large Japanese Imari vase, dating from circa 1700, features an unusual decoration depicting two large quails perching on a tree branch on a blue background with hexagons panels depicting butterflies and stylized flowers. The lid depicting same geometric patterns and surmounted by a trunk shaped finial with a small quail resting on it. Condition: The vase is perfect; the lid has restorations to the border. Rare, unusually decorated vase with elegant mellow colors, very decorative.

Early 18th Century Japanese Imari Lidded Bowl

A Regency black painted plaster standing female figure light by Humphrey Hopper depicted in classical dress, holding aloft a candle light with etched floral glass shade, on a circular base. The shade replaced. Signed and Dated on the back of the base “N 18-1809” and “H”. Humphrey Hopper (1765-1844) may have started his career as a mason. He completed his education as a mature man of 36 by enrolling in the Royal Academy Schools in February 1801 to study sculpture. He was a successful student, winning a silver medal in December 1802.

Regency Black Painted Plaster Figure of a Muse by Humphrey Hopper

An impressively large mid-18th century carved giltwood mirror in the Rococo style. The later shaped divided twin plate surmounted by a pierced acanthus leaf cresting flanked by icicles, the pierced ‘C’@ scroll sides with trailing oak leaves and acorns, above a pierced rocaille, double ‘C’ scroll and acanthus carved apron below. This mirror has excellent detailing and superb crisp carving throughout; the gilt finish has nicely aged to present a superb centrepiece mirror for any room or hallway. Origin/Age: Probably Irish, George III, circa 1760.

Large Mid-18th Century George III Rococo Style Carved Giltwood Mirror

A large pair of octagonal shaped Japanese Imari vases dating from circa 1700-1720 featuring an intricate and colorful decorative scheme: Five shaped panels containing birds, trees and bridges on a flowers background. Condition: One vase is perfect, one has a small chip at the neck measuring circa 4 cm and professionally restored (see image nr. 4). Lamped with a giltwood base and brass top.
