The Elbogen porcelain factory was founded on the Austrian / Czech border in 1815 by Rudolf K and Eugen K Haidinger. It was named Haideinger Brothers Porcelain Factory in Elbogen, and was also known as Vienna Porcelain and Earthenware Factory. The factory was located in the Czech city of Loket, which was known as Elbogen whilst under Austrian rule. Like Samson of France, the Elbogen workshops produced a number of designs in the eighteenth century manner inspired by Chinese and European models.

A charming lamped Japanese Imari early 18th century vase. The main body of the vase is decorated in iron red and cobalt blue and highlighted with gilding. The main body is decorated with cranes, plants and flowers emerging from rocks. The vase has been mounted on a hand-carved water gilt wooden base and fitted with an antiqued brass plate and light finial.

A Large Japanese Imari octagonal vase, dating around 1700. The body is finely painted in typical Imari palette (underglaze blue and overglaze red gold and green). Lamped and mounted on a hand carved and hand gilt wooden base, fitted with antiqued brass plate with UK fittings, brown silk flex and black UK plug. Can be converted for EU or US use. Lampshades are not included.

Mid 19th Century Academy Plaster Bust of Julius Caesar

An impressively large mid-18th century carved giltwood mirror in the Rococo style. The later shaped divided twin plate surmounted by a pierced acanthus leaf cresting flanked by icicles, the pierced ‘C’@ scroll sides with trailing oak leaves and acorns, above a pierced rocaille, double ‘C’ scroll and acanthus carved apron below. This mirror has excellent detailing and superb crisp carving throughout; the gilt finish has nicely aged to present a superb centrepiece mirror for any room or hallway. Origin/Age: Probably Irish, George III, circa 1760.
