Each central panel decorated with a beautifully depicted kara shi-shi lions and framed by borders of blue scrolling flowers on a dark blue and gold background. Condition: very good, one is perfect, the other has a barely visible hairline crack running for about 15 cm in the less decorated side of the vase.

Depicting Chinese courtiers wearing elaborate robes in a lush garden with exotic plants. including palm trees bearing coconuts, their trunks covered in ivy. Several comparable example at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, Holland. Lamped and mounted on a hand carved and hand gilt wooden base, fitted with antiqued brass plate with UK fittings, brown silk flex and black UK plug. Can be converted for EU or US use. An unusual and large Kangxi (1662-1722) blue and white porcelain charger. circa 1700. Its shape takes inspirations from Dutch 17th century silver, probably the basin of an ewer. Large mushroom shaped kangxi mark at the bottom. Similar examples and literature: Hermitage Museum, saint Petersburg (Arapova,1977, p.122) : Chinese Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum (de krahl/Ayers, 1986, p 1023).
