Rare English Georgian satinwood cutlery box with painted decoration. This style was developed by T. Sheraton and very rare to find in a cutlery box which is usually mahogany. Sheraton is a neoclassical style characterized by delicate straight lines, light construction, contrasting veneers, and neoclassical motifs and ornamentation. It is named for English designer Thomas Sheraton who published his designs in “The Cabinet Makers and Upholsterers Drawing Book” in 1791. It was the most reproduced style in the United States during the Federal period.

An unusual late 17th century Dutch Delft blue and white vase, Lamped. The tubular vase featuring an extremely fine painted decoration in underglaze blue. Depicting Chinese courtiers wearing elaborate robes in a landscape featuring different varieties of trees and plants. Lamped and mounted on a hand carved and hand gilt wooden base, fitted with antiqued brass plate with UK fittings, brown silk flex and black UK plug. Can be converted for EU or US use. Lampshades are not included.

A well painted medium sized Japanese Imari vase depicting phoenixes and gru amongst flowers and blossoming branches on a cloud shaped underglaze blue decorated background. The lid with a shi-shi lion on a rockwork. Condition: Two pieces restuck on the rim about 5 cm (clearly visible in the picture) and restoration to the finial. Very vivid and well preserved colors.

Early 18th Century Japanese Imari Lidded Vase

Large lidded blue and white Arita jar with applied takamaki-e (raised lacquer sprinkled with gold powder), and painted decoration depicting four panels, two with cockerels on rocks and two with a Karashishi lion on a mountainous landscaped surmounted by peonies. Most of the background with applied maki-e ( lacquer sprinkled with gold powder) and a black laquer border. Similar examples are in the collection of Augustus the Strong in Dresden and the Kyushu Ceramic Museum. The lid with old restoration.

Very Rare Japanese Imari Lacquered Vase, circa 1700

A large pair of octagonal shaped Japanese Imari vases dating from circa 1700-1720 featuring an intricate and colorful decorative scheme: Five shaped panels containing birds, trees and bridges on a flowers background. Condition: One vase is perfect, one has a small chip at the neck measuring circa 4 cm and professionally restored (see image nr. 4). Lamped with a giltwood base and brass top.

Large Pair of 18th Century Japanese Imari Vases Lamped

A matched pair of very large, rare Chinese blue and white porcelain vases dating from the last quarter of the 18th century. Elaborately decorated in Oriental landscapes showing pagodas, gardens and bridges. Both vases have sustained heavy damage on one side which has been restored. Each vase has a very good undamaged side. Perfect for decorating as these vases are in ‘country house condition’.
